Getting Started
Welcome to CDE CAD FiveM
CDE CAD is a full-featured Computer Aided Dispatch system purpose-built for FiveM roleplay communities. It includes an MDT for Police, EMS, and Fire departments, a Civilian portal, Dispatch dashboard, LiveMap, Discord integration, and much more. This guide will walk you through every step of setting up your community.
Your Community Setup
After our support team provisions your community, you'll receive access to your CAD instance with a unique Community ID. Your community comes with full access to all modules and a dedicated admin panel for configuration.
What you'll receive from support
When your community is provisioned, the support team will provide:
- Your Community ID (needed for FiveM script configuration)
- Access to your admin panel for managing departments, penal codes, and settings
- Your CAD URL (a free cdecad.com subdomain, or configure your own custom domain later)
- Complete setup instructions and API configuration details
What's included
Every CDE CAD community comes with:
- Full CAD system access and management
- All CAD modules enabled (Police MDT, EMS MDT, Fire MDT, Civilian, Dispatch, LiveMap)
- Discord integration and automation
- Custom branding options
- Community-specific configuration
- Dedicated support team
Initial configuration
Once you have access, you'll want to configure the basics:
- Set your community name as it should appear in the CAD
- Link your Discord Server ID for member and role syncing
- Upload your community logo (displayed on the login page and CAD header)
Department Configuration
Departments are the backbone of your CAD system. Set up your agency structure, create rank hierarchies, and configure granular permissions for each role.
Police Department
Navigate to Community Admin → Departments → Add Department.
Recommended rank structure for Police:
- Chief of Police
- Assistant Chief
- Captain
- Lieutenant
- Sergeant
- Senior Officer / Corporal
- Officer
- Probationary Officer / Cadet
EMS Department
Recommended rank structure for EMS:
- EMS Director
- Assistant Director
- Captain
- Lieutenant
- Senior Paramedic
- Paramedic
- EMT
- Probationary EMT
Fire Department
Recommended rank structure for Fire:
- Fire Chief
- Assistant Chief
- Battalion Chief
- Captain
- Lieutenant
- Firefighter II
- Firefighter I
- Probationary Firefighter
Civilian Department
The Civilian department allows community members to create civilian identities, register vehicles, and interact with the CAD. A simple structure works best:
- Civilian Manager
- Senior Civilian
- Civilian
Setting permissions
Each rank can be assigned granular permissions that control access throughout the CAD:
- View , Read access to records, calls, BOLOs
- Create , Create reports, citations, calls
- Edit , Modify existing records
- Delete , Remove records (usually supervisors+)
- Admin , Department management, roster changes
- Dispatch , Access to the dispatch dashboard
- Supervisor , Supervisor panel access
Penal Codes & Legal System
Configure your community's legal framework. You can import penal codes via CSV, use one of our built-in penal code packs, or create them manually.
Adding penal codes
CDE CAD supports multiple ways to set up your penal codes:
- Import via CSV , Upload a CSV file with your custom penal codes (see format below)
- Manual entry , Add charges one by one through the admin panel
Check the admin panel for any available pre-built penal code packs that can be imported with a single click.
Charge categories
All charges fall into one of three categories:
CSV import format
To import your own penal codes, prepare a CSV file with the following format:
Upload your CSV from Community Admin → Penal Codes → Import CSV.
Installing FiveM Scripts
CDE CAD has two in-game FiveM resources: the cad-911 resource for emergency calls and the cde-tablet for accessing the full CAD in-game. Both are lightweight and work with ESX, QBCore, or standalone.
Resource 1: CDE CAD 911
A lightweight resource that connects 911 emergency calls directly to your CDE CAD dispatch console. Players use /911 [description] to place calls, which appear in real-time with automatic location detection via the nearest-postal resource.
1. Install nearest-postal (required dependency)
The cad-911 resource requires the nearest-postal resource for automatic street name and postal code detection. Download it and place it in your server's resources folder.
2. Get cad-911 from Community admin
The cad-911 resource comes from one place: Community admin → Integrations → Resource setup. Extract it to your server's resources folder:
3. Configure cad-911 config.lua
Open config.lua in the cad-911 folder and set your Community ID (found in the admin panel):
Resource 2: CDE CAD In-Game Tablet
Opens your full CDE CAD system through an immersive in-game tablet interface. Officers, dispatchers, and civilians can access everything without alt-tabbing , lookups, reports, dispatch, and more. Opens with /tablet or /cad.
4. Get cde-tablet from Community admin
The cde-tablet resource comes from the same place, Community admin → Integrations → Resource setup. Extract it to your server's resources folder. Open its configuration file and set your CAD URL and community settings.
5. Update server.cfg
Add all three resources to your server.cfg:
6. Test in-game
Restart your FiveM server, then test both resources:
- Type
/911 Test callin-game , the call should appear in your CAD dispatch console - Type
/tabletor/cadto open the in-game CAD tablet
Discord Integration
Connect your Discord server to CDE CAD for real-time notifications, role syncing, and channel-based dispatch alerts.
1. Invite the CDE CAD Bot
Click the button below to invite the official CDE CAD Discord bot to your server. The bot needs Manage Roles, Send Messages, and Manage Webhooks permissions.
2. Configure webhook channels
Set up webhook URLs in Community Admin → Discord → Webhooks for each notification type:
Create a webhook in each desired Discord channel (Channel Settings → Integrations → Webhooks) and paste the URL into the corresponding field in the admin panel.
3. Discord role syncing
Role syncing automatically assigns Discord roles based on a member's department and rank in CDE CAD.
To configure:
- Go to Community Admin → Discord → Role Sync
- Map each CDE CAD department/rank to a Discord role
- Ensure the bot's role is above the roles it needs to manage in Discord's role hierarchy
- Enable auto-sync to keep roles updated when members are promoted or transferred
Custom Domain & Branding
Make your CAD feel like your own with a custom domain and community branding. Every community gets a free subdomain, or you can bring your own domain.
Subdomain options
You have two options for accessing your CAD:
DNS CNAME record setup
If using a custom domain, add the following DNS record at your domain registrar (the exact CNAME value will be shown in your admin panel):
DNS propagation can take up to 24-48 hours, though it usually completes within minutes.
Video guide: Watch our step-by-step custom domain setup tutorial:
Branding customization
Customize the look and feel of your CAD from the admin panel:
- Upload your community logo (displayed in the CAD header and login page)
- Set your community's display name
Go Live Checklist
Almost there! Run through this final checklist to make sure everything is ready before opening your CAD to your community.
Final Verification
Invite Members
Share your CAD URL with community members. They can sign in with Discord and request department access.
LiveMap Setup
Configure your LiveMap to track in-game units in real time on an interactive map.
